Science Academy of Chicago is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school providing liberal arts education to students from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 8. Admission is open to all qualified students and is not based on race, religion, color, or ethnic origin. The curriculum includes English, science, mathematics, social studies, computer, Spanish, fine arts, and physical education. Small class sizes (a maximum of 15 students) allow individualized instruction. Science Academy of Chicago opens its doors at 7am, and students are supervised until classes begin at 8:30am for no extra charge. After-school clubs are held until 4:30pm, and after-school care is available from 4:30pm to 6pm for $6 per hour (billed monthly). Parents of students at Science Academy of Chicago can follow their children's classroom activities, homework, assignments, and grades via a secure password-protected website.
