The Science Museum of Virgina is a very busy place, packed with eye catching exhibits and hands-on activities. Permanent exhibits include Bioscape, which encompasses three galleries (from very small to "my size" to very big).

The IMAX theater and Carpenter Science Theater offer regularly scheduled screenings and shows.

The museum's Camp In programs feature special hands-on activities, workshops, a giant screen film, planetarium show, evening and breakfast snacks, and more. Check the calendar for dates.

Birthday parties are set in Chessie, the yellow caboose, and can be themed to meet the birthday child's most pressing interests: princes and princesses, ocean adventures, outer space, or safari fun. Party times are available Mon-Sat at 10:30am, 1pm and 3:30pm; Sun at 1pm and 3:30pm. Parties can be scheduled for up to 15 children (ages 4-12).
