Sea Trek, based in Sausalito, is a nice place to have a sea kayaking adventure, whether you're a novice or experienced. It rents out sea kayaks, offers local trips specifically for families, teaches kayaking, and runs a
summer camp. Children as young as six can kayak because the boats are stable and hold two or three people - presumably a child and at least one parent.
Classes: Group lessons are offered once a week and you can sign up for private lessons as well. Times are flexible and classes can be tailored for the rank beginner as well as advanced paddlers. The cost starts at $110 for three hour-long sessions.
