about Seattle Children's Theatre:
Productions at the Seattle Children's Theatre strike that magical balance in which childlike sensibilities are respected, and adult sensibilities aren't insulted. Artistic direction is sophisticated and imaginative, and the sets and costumes often evoke an ooh from kids (and adults) in the audience. Every play ends with a cast discussion period, in which the audience can ask questions of cast members. This is simply a top-notch theater company for all ages.
Before or after the show, families can visit an in-theatre gift shop that sells toys and books related to the current season's plays. Snacks (cookies, candy, coffee, juices) are available for sale at nominal prices during intermission. Each of the two auditoriums features a cry room at the back for restless babies and toddlers and their parents.
Street parking can be difficult on show nights (and parking on most area side streets after 6pm requires a residential permit), but there are many pay lots within walking distance. Taking Highway 99 southbound into town is highly recommended to avoid the "Mercer mess" getting off of I-5.
getting there:

Thomas is two blocks ahead. Theater will be on the right, north of the Pacific Science Center. Parking: One pay lot is located just south of the Pacific Science Center, on the east side of the street. Other lots are one block west of the Theatre. Public Transportation: Ride the Monorail from Westlake Center Mall. Served by Metro Transit routes 1,2,8,15,19,24,33,36, and 81.
