about Seattle Ferry Service:
This small ferry outfit offers Sunday Ice Cream Cruises aboard the Fremont Avenue. From Fremont, passengers cruise through the Lake Washington Ship Canal, Lake Union, and Portage Bay, and view the Sleepless in Seattle houseboat, Dale Chihuly's studio, and other points of interest, to a humorous narration of lake history by owner and skipper Larry Kezner. Passengers enjoy ice cream (great idea!) in the main saloon while they cruise.
The ferry also offers Christmas, New Year's, and other seasonal cruises.
Private party cruises are also available.
tips:
Seattle Ferry Service offers occasional service on festival and special events days, such as the Wooden Boat Festival at the Center for Wooden Boats over the July 4th holiday or the Tall Ships Challenge on Lake Union. Prices for a ride tend to be reasonable; keep it in mind if you're a non-boat-owner who wants a great view of otherwise hard-to-access water events.
getting there:
From downtown Fremont, turn right onto 34th Avenue. At the next street (under the Aurora Bridge), turn right. Drive under the bridge to the ramp, bear right, and then turn left into the parking lot. Follow balloons to the landing.

We had been looking forward to this trip all week. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined when we saw the captain yell at 2 small children who were there with their parents.
A short tour of Lake Union & incredible views on a clear day. The captain was great & our kids raved about the chocolate root beer floats. We'll definitely take visitors on this cruise again (& again...!)
