Younger children may not completely understand the distinct language, drama, and pacing of a Shakespeare play, but the
Shakespeare Festival's lively atmosphere, picnicking on the green, 20-minute mini-play that introduces the characters and plot of the mainstage play, and the
pre-show activities - including musical ensembles, dancers, jugglers, clowns, and hands-on art projects - might just inspire them to say, as Celia does in
As You Like It, "I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it!"
The festival is held at
Forest Park and all
seating is first come, first served; bring your favorite blanket or folding lawn chair and set up camp in the cool grass.
