The oldest and largest of
Clayton's parks,
Shaw Park is located at the west end of the city's business district. At
47 acres, the park is sizeable enough to host many of St. Louis's premier events, including the
St. Louis Jazz and Heritage Festival and
Taste of Clayton.
The park has ample
recreational amenities, including its
Aquatic Center, ten tennis courts, ten ball fields, three playgrounds, volleyball sandpits, the
Shaw Park Ice Rink, and a large, covered picnic area dubbed "the corporate tent."
Making its debut in October 2010, the
Tree Top Playground is nature-themed and includes a custom tree house design. All equipment is designed to be accessible for children of all abilities. Features include traditional, toddler, ADA accessible, and a "flyer saucer swing" and a fully accessible splash pad for those hot, summer days.
