Shelby Humane Society accepts volunteers ages 14 and up, and makes exceptions for younger volunteers who are accompanied by an adult on occasion. PetSmart and Main Shelter volunteers are required to make a $5 donation, to cover a volunteer t-shirt and training. All volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer time for in-shelter work, or 12 hours for off-site (PetSmart and events).
