Sierra Canyon is located in a beautiful rural area of Chatsworth, among trees, grassy fields, orchards, and trails. The campgrounds include air-conditioned facilities, three heated pools, a 110-foot high water slide, amphitheater, playgrounds, and more.
Campers are grouped together by age, and are encouraged to participate in a variety of programs, including gymnastics, field sports, archery, go-carting, and horseback riding.
A
Summer Scholars program is available for students who wish to enhance or improve their basic academic skills while attending camp. Reading, writing, spelling and math are the focus of these studies. Cost is $15 per class for 2-6th grade students. The program runs before camp, from 8:30am-9:30am (Mon-Fri).
Air conditioned shuttle bus service throughout the San Fernando Valley is available for $14/day.
Sierra Canyon Day Camp offers a
Counselor-In-Training Program for teenagers in ninth through tenth grades. It is designed to teach teens to work with younger children, and to prepare them for future counseling positions. Tuition is $125/summer.
Teen Camp is for boys and girls, in seventh through ninth grades and includes trips to places such as
Magic Mountain,
Hurricane Harbor, and
Universal Studios.
There are also several
specialty camps offered, including Teen Camp, Adventure Camp, Sports World, Rock Band Camp, and Movie Making Camp.
Sierra Canyon also offers
education year round (they are on a traditional school year) for Pre-Kindgergarten through tenth grade.
