Serving Early Kindergarten kids through eleventh graders,
Sierra Canyon provides students with science lab materials, computers, and other instructional materials in its effort to ensure the best creative learning environment possible.
Sierra Canyon was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in 1990 as being a "Recognized School of Excellence." Founding Directors, Mick Horwitz and Howard Wang received this Blue Ribbon of Excellence at the White House, presented by President George Bush. Today, the school continues to live up to the same standards with a serious reputation to uphold: it was the first proprietary school to be recognized by the United States Department of Education. The school stresses education through small instructional groups, maintaining small classroom sizes.
Costs: Early-K $12,700; K-5th $17,500; 6th-8th $18,300; 9th-11th $22,900. Application/evaluation fee $150. Tuition is payable annually, bi-annually, or monthly (10 payments). Financial assistance is available. No discounts for multiple enrollment.
The school also runs
Sierra Canyon Day Camp, designed to keep young ones burning off all that pent-up energy with a full schedule of field trips, sports, horseback riding, swimming, and an 18-foot high water slide.
