about Sing-A-Lingo:

Sing-A-Lingo offers Spanish classes for young children with their caregivers. By singing original, catchy songs about daily life, the child/caregiver team learns together - practicing is easy and fun when you sing in the tub, while setting the table, while putting on your shoes, etc.! Enrollment includes a CD of original songs, all in Spanish. Each session consists of eight classes, which meet for an hour each week. Parents can choose from two locations: the Gentle Dragon Preschool in Medford and One Whittemore Park, Arlington. Visit the website for the current schedule.

My two daughters (ages 2 and 5) and I loved this class! We all learned a lot and are still singing the songs. Pina is engaging as a teacher. And she understands the limits of young kids' attention spans and works with it. She makes learning fun and easy. I highly recommend this class!

I've taken other Spanish classes with my kids and i've never heard them use Spanish vocab at home- spontaneously! Now, my 3 year old loves to point out all the things that are "grande" and all that are "pequena". She has picked up so much vocabulary that she's teaching her older brother! This program is truly different; the songs are related to things we do everyday and they're fun for kids and parents!

My daughter and I learned so much Spanish in our Sing-a-lingo class. She loves the cd- warning, you will hear it many times. Fortunately it's musically interesting and can stand the frequent replay! The teacher, Pina, does a great job of focusing on activities and phrases that parents use every day so it's easy to incorporate Spanish into your everyday life. I highly recommend Sing-a-lingo!

I really enjoyed this course as a parent and my son loved going every week. Great original songs are focused on practical everyday vocabulary that you can try to weave into your day. We find ourselves humming and singing the tunes all the time. I also like the take-home materials - small laminated index cards which are very portable.
