Flying fantasies play out daily at iFly Orlando, a very cool indoor skydiving activity for kids with aspirations to be superheros or paratroopers. The hour-long experience includes a class - during which instructors explain how to use hand signals to communicate in the wind tunnel, what the rules of the experience are, and how to position yourself for the "ride." All students then receive knee and elbow pads, ear plugs, a flight suit, a helmet, and goggles. And then everyone has two turns "flying" in the tunnel. Purchase a DVD or video of your "flight" (you need to request this before entering the wind tunnel) - it's a great memento of the experience. Birthday parties for up to 12 kids can be booked in advance. SkyVenture has an air-conditioned room that offers comfortable seating for each individual group of 12. Food and beverage packages (usually pizza and soda) must be pre-ordered. The observation level is open free of charge, and watching people zoom around can be entertaining in its own right.
