about Solitude Mountain Resort:

Solitude Mountain Resort prides itself on being an award winning, private, yet unpretentious four-season resort. Historically this resort has been an uncrowded local's favorite boasting a good mixture of terrain. It is Utah's newest pedestrian only mountain village, with ski in/ski out lodges, and a variety of dining options from casual to four-star.

Solitude has 64 named runs with 20% Beginner, 50% Intermediate, and 30% Advanced/Expert. It offers 1200 acres of skiing and snowboarding as well as 20 kilometers of forested trails for Nordic/cross-country skiing/snowshoeing. An average of 500 inches of snow falls there every year. Lifts include one high speed quad, two quads, one triple, and four doubles.

A Ski & Snowboard School offers programs for most ages and levels. Solitude is the only resort facility in the state to offer instruction in four snowsport disciplines (alpine skiing, telemark, snowboarding, and Nordic skiing). The school for kids offers lessons to children ages four to 12. For information on lessons call 801.536.5730.

Families can go ice skating on a new ice sheet in the heart of the village, and then warm up by a rink-side fire. The rink is open seven days a week and can be rented out for special events including birthday parties. Skate rentals are available in the village rental shop. The rink is open all winter starting December 20 from 3pm-8pm.

The winter season opens in mid November and runs to mid April, conditions permitting. Lodging and dining facilities are open year-round with breaks in the shoulder season.

Summer activities include mountain biking, disc golf, and hiking. Kids love to bring fishing poles to try and catch the large fish in the mountain pond.
