The casual South Lyon Hotel is a family-friendly restaurant (not hotel) in the small, far-western Detroit suburb of South Lyon. The historic building has been a thriving restaurant/bar for years, and its recent renovations and menu changes make it noteworthy.
The menu is filled with pizzas and calzones, burgers, steaks, and pasta. The kids' menu offers the typical pizzas, burgers, chicken strips, grilled cheese, and spaghetti, but at an atypical price: just $2.99 per entree.
This is a lively place, with a full bar and lots of happy hour specials (daily until 5pm). There are two big-screen TVs, and the joint can really get rocking during big sports games. On most eves, a dj spins upstairs and live musicians entertain downstairs.
The South Lyon Hotel has banquet facilities in the second-story Oak Room (for up to 80 people) and is popular for baby or bridal showers.
