a public park offering a wave pool, an 18- and nine-hole golf course, in-line skating, deck hockey, an ice skating rink, tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, softball/baseball fields, a soccer field, picnic shelters, and a
children's playground complex.
South Park also offers the 18,000-square-foot
Action Park, which caters to boarders, bikers, and bladers. The facility features a 12-foot vertical ramp half pipe, a 2,850-square-foot concrete flow bowl, and an inline-skating area. The park offers areas for all skill levels and a spectator area.
The
wave pool at
South Park is open seasonally June through Labor Day. Daily admission rates are available ($4 for adults, $1-$3 for children) and seasonal pool passes are available through the park's administration office. In July, the pool also offers a
free, four-week Learn-to-Swim program for kids ages five and up; advance registration is not required. Details are available by calling 412.835.4809.
The
ice skating rink at
South Park is open seasonally from mid-November until mid-March. Visit the

South Park also serves as a venue for concerts and special events, and is also home to a game preserve, the
Allegheny County Gardens,
South Park Nature Center, and
South Park Theatre.
