South Towne Center mall features two levels of over 150 specialty shops, services, and restaurants. Anchor stores include JCPenney, Macy's, Forever 21, and Dillard's.

South Towne is perhaps the nicest mall in the valley. It is clean and the stores are appealing. Expectant mother parking is available at most entrances, and family restrooms featuring large changing tables and mini toilets for children are located on both mall levels. The upper level family restroom also offers a mother's lounge with three cushioned rocking chairs for nursing mothers.

Kids love to ride the carousel located at the entrance to the food court. Rides cost $1.50. Another offering for children with energy to burn is the Dino Towne Playland, located just outside of Mervyn's on level one. Dino Towne is a free dinosaur-themed soft play area for children under 42 inches tall. Plenty of benches surround the playland so parents can relax as they supervise their children. Dino Towne is open during mall hours.

Several children's clothing stores can be found throughout the mall, including Naartjie, The Children's Place, 5.7.9, Aeropostale, and Gymboree. Other shops in the mall that appeal to children or families are Claire's, Hammond Hobbies & Toys, and Kiddie Kandids. REI is located in the parking lot, on the northwest corner of the mall. Sports Authority is just north of the mall.
