The beauty of Specht's is evident on a warm Hill Country night, with live music playing out on the back porch. Long picnic tables and benches make friends out of strangers, and kids gather on the large grass field to climb the tree, call the animals over from the adjacent ranch, or join spontaneous games of tag, football, soccer, or whatever else they might invent. The menu features some delicious, down-home American fare, served in generous portions. Music is scheduled almost every night; call ahead to double-check. The only downside for families with little ones is that the restrooms are cramped and definitely not conducive to changing diapers.
