SPF Beach Camp meets at Santa Monica Beach Tower 24, south of the pier. The George family leads a variety of ocean and land sports and activities like beach volleyball, boogie boarding, kickboxing, sand-sculpting, and ping pong, with an emphasis on personalized instruction. Children are encouraged to try new adventures and develop their existing skills. The camp promises a 6:1 ratio, frequent hydration and sunscreen, SPF rashguards, smooth sand at water break, well marked boundaries, and sufficient shade.

getting there:

From the 10 west, take 4th/5th Street exit. Turn left onto 4th Street, right onto Pico Avenue, left onto Ocean, right onto Hollister, and into Parking Lot 4 South. Hourly parking is available for $1 per hour.

With two full-time working parents, our children have been to lots of highly recommended, "5 star" camps and this one is at the top of their list (and ours too). For the kids, the spirit and sense of community and fun generated by all of the counselors just cannot be beat. The counselors are young, responsible, healthy active adults who are fantastic role models for children of all ages. For parents with safety concerns, I can report that SPF takes its job very seriously and always seems to be aware of the need for good hands-on supervision of all its campers in the beach setting.

...summer! My son had a blast and not one sunburn in 3 weeks! There's a great mix of ages and both girls and boys. There were plenty of different activities for the kids (in and out of the water)! Most important... I felt completely safe with the counselors and the water activities! Cna't wait until next summer!
