about Spring Gulch Resort Campground:

Spring Gulch Resort Campground is a well-maintained campground located in the heart of Lancaster County's Amish Country. The Campground offers sites for tent and RV camping, as well as has a variety of rental properties, from bare bones camping cabins to comfortable, fully equipped houses that can accommodate up to 10 guests. There's a lot to keep the family busy at Spring Gulch. The facility offers shuffleboard, basketball, horseshoes, mini golf, two heated pools, a hot tub, tennis, volleyball, softball, a game room/arcade, a fitness center, playground, and a trout-stocked fishing lake. There's also a swimming pond with a sandy beach a small island that bigger kids (ages six and up) can wade over to and explore. One of the unique features at Spring Gulch is its day spa, offering manicures, pedicures, and massages. Events and organized families activities, scheduled throughout the day during the summer season, are usually held in the Campground's dance barn. Craft classes require a nominal fee ($1.50-$5), but other events, such as kids' hula-hoop contests and teen dance parties, are free. The Campground's main office includes a camp store that stocks basic camping essentials, firewood, souvenirs, and a small number of grocery items, as well as cold beverages and hand-dipped ice cream. Though somewhat dated, the restrooms and free showers at Spring Gulch are very clean and in good shape.

tips:

Sites numbered in the 1100s-1200s are beautifully wooded and secluded, but situated up a steep incline that's hard to walk and isn't convenient to the main campground activities. Sites near the action (1-1000s and 1500s-1600s), however, are close together and without much tree coverage.

getting there:

From Philadelphia, take the PA Turnpike to exit 298. Take Route 23 West for 10 miles, then follow 897 South for 4 miles; Lynch Road is on the left.
