The oldest girls' school in Philadelphia, founded in 1879, Springside is an independent, nonsectarian college preparatory school enrolling 667 students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12.

Retaining its mission as a girls' school and adding co-educational classes with neighboring all-boys Chestnut Hill Academy in the upper grades, Springside offers a "best of both worlds" advantage to girls.

The After School Center (ASC) at Springside is a collaborative program with Chestnut Hill Academy, designed to provide afternoon care for girls and boys in grades Pre-K through 5. The Center follows the school calendar and is open immediately after school until 6pm, though children may be picked up earlier. The ASC also provides a drop-in service for those parents who would like after-school care for their child on an occasional basis.
