Great Church. Has both an upstairs and downstairs for services, an absurd amount of Mass time for anyone's schedule. The church atmosphere is very warning along with the people and service itself; Delivers the good news via a Homily that is easy to apply and digest. It's just long enough and concise about the points, not roundabout and convoluted with miscellaneous digressions, that often appear to be used to fill the extra 5-10 min Homily quota a lot of priests seem to go by; and that really just leaves you wondering what you are supposed to derive from the Gospel reading after listening. Incense? Thank God for the sparing use of it. It's only my opinion, but it often chokes the air and takes away from the mass. Worshipping God isn't about flash and glitter...it's about God... which St. Pat has a happy medium with. St. Pat's actually got rid of the Sign of Peace, which is sad really, as that provides some connection and human interaction, which I think people miss, and I'm sure God approves.

Am sorry to say this but the Masses at Saint Patrick's are really lackluster and unimpressive. There's too much hand shaking, no incense, no chanting; very plain, very "Catholic Lite."

Very boring, pedestrian Masses here. The singing is good, but the liturgy is too plain. Where is the incense? Where are the traditional trappings? If you want a plain jane Novus Ordo Mass, go to Saint Patrick's. Better Masses are held at Saint Clement's Anglo Catholic Church on Cherry Street.
