about Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Ferry:

There are often long lines, and sometimes a long wait, for this, the only access to The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Your best, safest bet is to arrive in time for the first boat of the day, at 8:30am.

If there's not a big crowd, buy your tickets and then take a look around Castle Clinton, which has a cute little room with three dioramas depicting the harbor at different points in its history.

Once aboard, the trip's a short one: about 10 minutes to the Statue, 15 minutes from the Statue to Ellis Island, and then 10 minutes back to Battery Park.

Advance ticket purchase is available online. Call 877.LADY.TIX for further information.
