Alpana was able to capture truly beautiful pictures of our family and several of the photos are more than just portraits but actually seem otherworldly. We loved that she uses natural scenery as a backdrop and relies upon natural light, and that she had the patience to capture so many of the fleeting expressions displayed by our children. Beautiful photos, excellent experience.

The fact that Alpana is an excellent photographer and artist was always evident from her photos on her blog. But I was completely blown away by the fact that she was able to capture so many amazing photographs during our session when her subjects were our 14-month old twins, who are never still for more than a second. It is almost unbelievable that she could get so many beautiful photographs of both the kids especially since, at any given point in time, our twins tend to move in completely different directions.

The session was very relaxing and fun. She was excellent with the kids, with us and our dog who insisted on being as close to us as possible. Before the session, she was very responsive in answering every question we had. Her suggestions for outfits for the children as well as us were extremely helpful and made getting ready for the session very very easy.

Our gallery viewing and print-ordering appointment with her took us almost 2 hours because we had so many amazing photographs to choose from. But she was very patient with us throughout the process when we kept changing our minds on which photos to order and which ones to let go.

All in all, it was a great experience. I am now waiting for the children to grow a little older so we can do it all over once again!

Alpana did a great job doing the outdoor shoot for the family. She spent a lot of time with out two reluctant teenagers and got them to give some memorable pictures. The time she took to look for locations, her suggestions and her patience was much appreciated. Alpana even got into the creek to shoot some priceless photos which will be part of our memories forever. The pictures have come out great and we are looking forward to the album!

Alpana is an amazing creator. She had created some unforgettable memories for us through her photography. We had her over for a family session and we were literally blown away by her attention to detail, which very well shows in the final product. She was extremely patient with both my boys and all the pictures were priceless. Both me and my husband had tough time selecting the photos as we couldn't eliminate any of them. I came across Alpana's site Storybox Art after searching bay area family photographers. It was a Friday night, and I spent the next couple of hours amazed by every photo I saw! I loved her use of natural lighting and decided to call her up and book a family session. I've used photo studios before, but I really wanted to capture my 5 year old (superhero) in action, and my sweet 9 month old just as they are right now. In a posey photo studio, that's hard to do! When we received our proofs, we were so happy with them, they were amazing! The outcome we received with Alpana's work is definitely no comparison to a boring photo studio. Seeing our babies in such natural, beautiful pictures was enough to make me tear up! It was so hard to choose...I truly believe that these photos are an investment, and I know I will be using Storybox Art again in the future!

We heard about Storybox Art through a friend and decided to have Alpana do a photo session with our family ... originally we were going to have her shoot only our two boys ... but my husband and I decided to join in as well. She was amazing ... and made what could have been a very uncomfortable experience into a pleasure! Alpana was recommended by a friend, and we decided to do a photo session with her (our first one ever) when we were in San Francisco with our 6-month old baby girl visiting family. My husband and I didn't know what to expect, but Alpana was great and guided us throughout the process. We had a very nice session and were able to visit all of the locations that we loved. It is almost embarrassing to say that we take the kids to get photos professionally at Picture People and JC Penny after our session with Alpana. She is incredibly talented and fantastic with the kids. They were so natural and comfortable around her that they barely even noticed that photos were taken of them. We weren't sure what to expect when we signed up for a New York mini-session with Alpana this fall, and the cold rain in Brooklyn seemed likely to squash our plans. But she worked quickly and cheerfully, in between showers, and the result is what is universally regarded as the best Christmas card of our lives. Go Alpana!

In a mere 30 minutes Alpana took the most beautiful, extraordinary pictures of my six year old son. Alpana has an amazing eye and the images she took of my son captured his personality perfectly. I can't recommend her enough and I will definitely use her in the future for family photos.

Alpana's photos of our baby Allison are amazing. Deciding on a family photographer is such a personal decision -- you have to like the photographer, their art and how they interact with your family. Alpana fits all three of those areas for us. Her work speaks for itself. It does not echo anyone else's photography -- she knows how to capture the spirit of individuals and families, how to put them into the correct scenery, how to get the best images of them. She is patient and kind to children -- sometimes a challenge in a situation where you need children to cooperate. But the bottom line is that her art reflects the spirit of her subjects -- which sometimes isn't the "perfect" smile or pose, just kids and adults being themselves.

Alpana has a keen eye for the perfect background even if she isn't from the area. In fact, I was one of her first clients in my area but she was able to find a beautiful, off the path setting for the picture over the internet. I thought that was above and beyond; she didn't settle for whatever was close by, she took the time to find a beautiful meadow to capture the right sentiment.

She is prompt and courteous. She is fantastic with kids and adults. My toddler was comfortable with her within the first few minutes of meeting her. While he had a great playdate with his new buddy (Alpana), she was able to capture precious candid moments that we'll treasure forever.

What I like best about Storybox Art are Alpana's talent, promptness, friendly personality, and follow-through. I wish I had found her when my toddler was a newborn.

Quite simply, Alpana is brilliant. She photographed our newly adopted 20 month old daughter, who did not stop moving for a SECOND! Despite this fact, the photos capture our child's essence. The photos are deeply moving, dramatic and beautifully composed in their development and printing. As mentioned elsewhere, she is a true artist. Anyone can aim and shoot. Alpana CREATES. We have thousands of photos of our kids, but none have ever looked so amazing. Our friends and family have noted that the photos Alpana took of our children are stunning but really look like them, too. The best part for me was how comfortable our three-year-old twins were with Alpana. They befriended her and as a result none of the photos seem forced. When we got our prints we truly fell in love with our kids all over again!
