The entire second floor is for kids in this independent library.
Toys, puzzle mats, and a Little Tikes playhouse line one wall behind the stacks; there is also a large room where weekly storytimes are held, and a second, larger meeting room where other programs are often conducted.
Besides the space, we're pretty impressed with what's in it: The library maintains an unusually broad selection of children's magazines and a wide variety of videos and books on tape (many with puppets, puzzles, and other activities) for children from lapsit age on up.
This branch is more than its generous "kiddie" library space, however. Year ?round, the calendar springs forth with activities for all ages, including science experiments, lively discussions, and a monthly chess club. (For which registration is required, but a library card isn't!)
