The Strasburg Rail Road offers a trip back in time. Guests ride aboard authentically restored passenger cars - pulled by a huge, coal-burning steam locomotive - and pass real working Amish farms.
Train ticket prices depend on which type of train car you choose. The standard Coach Cars are beautifully restored in authentic Victorian style. Ride aboard the Open Air Car and tour the scenic surrounding with a wide-open view of Pennsylvania Dutch country. Lancaster County foods are served in the elegantly restored Lee E. Brenner Dining Car. Indulge with a ride aboard the First-Class Parlor Car, offering Wine and Cheese Train Rides (for adults 21 and older) on select evenings April through November. Thomas the Tank Engine fans can take part in special Day Out with Thomas events in June, September, and December.
Behind-the-scenes guided tours of the railroad's mechanical shops, where trains are built and refurbished, are also available.
The East Strasburg Station offers several spots to browse, snack, and dine, including The Sweet & Treat Shop, The Trackside Cafe, Backshop Books & Hobbies, The Railroad Company Store, and The Railroad Toy Store, featuring a variety of Thomas & Friends train items for purchase.
