The Story Pirates (aka the Striking Viking Story Pirates), an ensemble of professional actors, take entertaining stories written by kids from all over the world and adapt them into sketches and songs. Collected stories range from a few words scrawled out by first-graders barely able to spell, to complex mini-novellas typed and illustrated by sixth graders. Performed every Saturday afternoon at the Drama Book Shop, the show, which is intended to help inspire kids to write, has an added benefit - if it sells out, everyone in the audience gets cookies and ice cream!

The Pirates also offer birthday parties - either in the Drama Book Shop or at a location of choice - that include a performance of their signature sketch comedy musical with the addition of a new story written by the birthday child. After the show, kids can mingle with the Pirates and get autographs. Goody bags for each guest contain candy, toys, Story Pirates eye patches and temporary tattoos, stickers, and key chains with a picture of the birthday author.
