Sunflower Farm is a 50-acre working farm with century-old trees, barns, a silo, outbuildings, and plenty of animals and horses. Hay wagons, carriages, a petting zoo (the only USDA licensed agricultural petting zoo in Boulder County) and ponies are just a few of the other offerings.
The farm offers a summer camp program for kids ages three to 10 who would like to experience an old-fashioned rural summer. Kids get to work with the animals and in nature, do art and gardening, and play with water or in the treehouse, among many other activities.
Kids FarmFest is held seasonally to the public, May through November, on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. On these days, families can take a self-guided tour through the venue and visit with baby animals, take pony rides, laze under shade trees, play on the tire swings or the zip line, or, during colder months, partake in a marshmallow roast. Kids FarmFest costs $6.
During October, the farm welcomes the Halloween/autumn season with live music, pumpkins, sunflowers, roasted marshmallows, and horse-drawn haywagons.
