A Vietnamese restaurant with two locations right around the corner from each other in the lively Valencia & 16th street neighborhood. The one next to the Roxie Theater is slightly hipper. In fact, its sister restaurant (3111 16th street) is downright drab. But the food at both spots is light, flavorful, and different. And if you can't get into the Roxie location, you can count on finding a spot at the other one. While the service is nothing special, the staff will make families feel as welcome as anyone else. The menu offers plenty of pan fried rice noodle dishes for the less adventuresome. For grown-up appetites, we recommend the Grilled Shrimp and Imperial Rolls with Vermicelli. Both restaurants can get noisy, particularly if the staff suddenly flicks on some music (and at the 16th street restaurant it was a dismal selection of pop). Probably better for families with older children; tables are small with no high chairs or booster seats available.
