Leaning dangerously (or delightfully) toward the preppy side, Talbots is something of an institution. For basics, and for party clothes, this is a good first stop. Our kids tend to find the clothes they've gotten from here a bit itchy...but then, they're allergic to looking clean and pressed!
tips:
If shopping is stressful for the kids, note that Johnny Rockets is directly across the parking lot to soothe with a milkshake afterwards!
