The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best day camp in the Tampa area, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo houses over 2000 animals in natural habitats. The zoo also offers water play areas, and rides are available for additional fees.

Families can enhance the zoo experience with the River Odyssey EcoTour, a journey up the Hillsborough River aboard the zoo vessel, Sirenia. The one-hour, seasonal trips cost $14 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $10 for kids ages three to 11; combo tickets are available for the zoo and EcoTour. Group discounts are available and annual pass holders receive a discount. Call for details.

Kids with a real interest in animals might enjoy the zoo's educational classes, camps, sleepovers, and birthday parties.
