Having used a nanny for a couple years but never been fully satisfied, we switched over to TeacherCare last year and can honestly say it's been the best decision we've ever made. Our son Michael now has a TeacherCaregiver at home who truly cares about his growth and development, helping him with the alphabet, learning new songs for counting, and more. He now cleans up after himself when he eats, he uses polite words such as 'please' and 'thank you,' and I can see that he smiles more often. We are so thankful for our TCgiver and have never been happier with childcare.

TeacherCaregivers are teachers that come from classrooms into homes and provide educationally based care giving. A TeacherCaregiver not only educates a child or cares for a child; we are involved in all aspects of their life from behavior to developing self-help skills. We take advantage of teachable moments while emphasizing age appropriate activities. We instill creativity and education by giving children the opportunity through play to create and learn. By providing children with stimulating activities and fun experiences, they are able to learn and grow as individuals and further develop their social skills. A child that is learning one on one at home is able to feel familiar with their surroundings while learning. Learning at home reinforces these ideas because you can use everyday objects that children use and turn those objects into a learning activity, that way the child is more likely to remember what they learned. I am a TeacherCaregiver for 3 boys and have been educating and caring for them for 4 years. Both parents and I are a team and we work together to provide a nurturing environment for each child as an individual to grow and learn at their own pace. I also work closely with their teachers so that I can review and extend what they are learning in their classrooms at home. Overall the boys and I are special friends and we have fun together. We laugh and play and have developed a relationship that will last a lifetime.

TeacherCaregivers work with families to provide a great learning experience for each individual child. I work as a TeacherCaregiver for two children and they are both growing and learning every day. We work to instill a life long love a learning and help them develop through age appropriate activities tailored specifically to their needs. The in depth application process I went through, and the family I was matched with are great indicators of how much TeacherCare directors care about the well being of the children, families and teachers involved. The family and I have worked as a team from day one, and we were the perfect match for each other. I always feel like a valued member of the family, and as an early childhood professional, I strive to help the children be the best they can be.
