Each fall, Houstonians can escape to the 16th century at the Texas Renaissance Festival, where costumed knights, knaves, and maidens mix with musicians and royalty.
Entertainment includes juggling, sword fighting, acrobatics, dancing, full-contact jousting, games, and rides. More than 300 "shoppes" feature arts and crafts, while demonstrations include glass blowing, armor crafting, book making, and more.
Visitors can find turkey legs, steak-on-a-stick, and grilled chicken, as well as foods from around the world, at the dozens of food shoppes.
Limited numbers and dates of advance discounted tickets are available on-line and at select retail locations. See the website for a current listing of retail outlets. Tickets can also be purchased by phone or by mail. Parking is free.
