The Animal Farm at Forest Park452

My sheep were at this farm in 2009 on display and the caretakers were kind and very good with my animals. I would recomend this animal park to anyone young or older.

This is one of my families favorite parks. The new water feature outside is great. It never seems over crowded, even on holiday weekends and the park is always kept up.
I'm not one to complain but...when we enrolled our kids in the moderately priced summer activities we expected a little higher caliber.
My 6 year old was enrolled in the 3 day learn to tend for farm animals class. This class had no curriculum, no structure and was being taught by teenagers who didn't seem to have any direction at all from a supervisor. At one point they played duck duck goose for an hour and the class duration was only 3 hours.
The 10 year old horse care class was very good and I would put my daughter in it again. She enjoyed it.

Swim classes: The instructors do a good job (once again only teenagers with little supervision) while they are teaching the class. My 3 year old went under the other day with 2 instructors and a lifeguard within a 6 foot radius and I had to run over from 50 feet away and draw attention to the fact my daughter had been under water for about 7 seconds. The reason no one saw this....the lifeguard was busy watching the other instructors, who were without classes at the time, running around and trying to shove each other in at the other end of the pool. What does that teach exactly? The kids all see their teachers running, pushing and diving in on top of each other. Great park but this is the last summer we put them in any classes.
