The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best artsy class for teens in Las Vegas, The Artful Potter is a paint-your-own-pottery studio with two locations in Las Vegas. A flat-fee of $8 covers the all-day studio time for adults; kids pay $5. The fee covers paints, decorating tools, glazing, and firing. Parents love the weekly Paint Me a Story program: Parents and children listen to a story and then paint a ceramic piece that relates to the book. The studio also hosts birthday parties. Prices start at $8 per person plus the cost of the ceramic piece and include a staff assistant, decorations, and the glazing and firing of all pieces. A minimum of eight people must attend, and the private party rooms can accommodate up to 24 people. The studio also offers summer camp classes and workshops; check the website for current schedules.
