The Loeb Boathouse, which overlooks
Central Park's
row boat pond, houses the
Boathouse Restaurant, which is probably just a bit too fancy for most families with kids in tow.
The restaurant has no kids' menu, and adult choices tend to be expensive (burger at lunch: $19) and a bit complicated for young palates (sherry vinegar sauce on tuna). Brunch is expensive, too - seasonal fruit and granola is $17.
If you can do without a table on the terrace, overlooking the boat pond, you can stop by the more reasonably priced cafe for food to go, or purchase something to eat on the less attractive front patio - wraps, burgers, salads, and soups are all available for those who are willing to stand in line and serve themselves.
If money's no object, and the kids are well behaved, give the restaurant a go - the food is delicious.
