The Crucible, the Bay Area's only nonprofit sculpture studio, industrial arts school, and art center, offers hands-on classes in the industrial arts for youth ages eight to 18. The center offers classes in welding, blacksmithing, jewelry making, glass work, bicycle repair, and more. Through Crucible classes, youth gain skills that build confidence, inspire creativity, and teach responsibility.

The hands-on classes have a low student-to-instructor ratio to ensure that each student receives personal attention. In addition to afterschool classes and weekend classes for youth, the Crucible offers weeklong camps at spring break and during the summer, and Family Fun Weekends, where parents and youth can sign up for classes and learn together.
