about The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center:

The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center houses a theater and exhibits on the history of water in Philadelphia. In the galleries, children can re-route historic streams, peak inside a 48-inch water main, explore the original 1812 pumping station, see where the water goes when they flush a toilet, and visit Pollutionopolis to learn about water and the environment.

    getting there:

From Center City: Take Kelly Drive West; at the second light after the Philadelphia Museum of Art, turn left onto Waterworks Drive. The Water Works is at the end of the drive, and there is limited parking on the street. Additional parking is available at the Art Museum and on Sedgely Drive. The FWWIC is also accessible from Center City by the 38 Bus.
