Fieldston blends rich hands-on, experience-oriented studies with challenging intellectual and academic work in a technologically up-to-date setting. A strong emphasis is placed on the arts and an innovative ethics program, so that students can learn to express their understanding of the world in many different ways and in a supportive and strong community.

The school, located in a beautiful country-like setting, draws students from the entire NYC area.

Fieldston has one of the largest and most comprehensive financial aid budgets of any independent day school in the country. About 25% of enrolled families receive financial aid awards.

The school's summer programming, Fieldston Outdoors, places an emphasis on the environment. Kids ages five to 12 take excursions to the Hudson River to hike, canoe, and explore the region; collect plant and animal specimens for a "living nature museum;" and focus on non-competitive physical education games and arts projects.
