about The Jewish Museum:
The main permanent exhibition at the Jewish Museum is Culture and Continuity: The Jewish Journey, a great opportunity to explore Jewish culture and history through art, archaeology, ceremonial objects, video, and interactive media. The "Ancient World" galleries feature archaeological treasures representing Jewish life in Israel and the Mediterranean region, and an installation of selections from the Museum's renowned collection of Hanukkah lamps from all over the world.
The vibrant, two-floor exhibition tells a story spanning 4000 years, from ancient times to the present. It offers an interpretation of two questions: How have the Jewish people survived through the centuries? and What constitutes the essence of Jewish identity?
Family Programs are plentiful and varied, and include a free Sunday afternoon drop-in program from 1pm-4pm.
Cafe Weissman, operated by Foremost Glatt Kosher Caterers, offers innovative kosher cuisine during Museum hours.
Family Membership is $125/year.
tips:
On Saturdays, museum admission is free (special exhibitions only; see website for details). The museum is closed Wednesdays, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Thanksgiving, and major Jewish holidays.
