My 5 year old son loves the Threehouse. i have read some of the reviews and while there is somewhat truth in them you also have to remember and be open to your surroundings. The Treehouse can get very busy, however the website does post good times to come to avoid the crowds and this is usually when i go and we have never had a bad experience. Also my son had his 5th birthday party here and the staff was great as well as the owner who was very accomodating. I have already adjusted to the fact that many children's spots now have the no outside food rule for obvious reasons - business! However the Treehouse menu offers all sorts of menu items for children with allergies they have soy milk and all organic products as well as a slew of gluten free snacks. I pretty sxure if the parents expressed what the allergies were, then they would have been told all the items offered to accomodate them. My son is older so no I don't run around with him. I usually bring him there so I can do work and he can play. That was the original plan of the Treehouse - a place where parents could hangout, have a coffee, surf the web while the children were right there playing. It still works great for me to this day. It's rainy outside now maybe we'll go tonite!

I liked the Treehouse better when my daughter was younger. Now that she's running around, it seems I must chase her. Which is more than I can say for many of the other parents who sit and read, drink coffee, check e-mail, and do not watch their children. If you arrive from about 10--12, it's packed and can be quite chaotic. The kids' meals are overpriced. I hear the owner is absolutely mean and nasty but, still, the classes are fantastic (music, tumbling, dance, etc). It is a good activity for young kids, but watch out for your infants, lest they be "run over" by older children. The staff members are kind; food service can be terribly slow. Nothing is perfect. Parents should watch their children better.

We've been taking our 3 kids to the Little Treehouse since they opened, and it just keeps getting better and better! In response to "Very Upset's" remarks, yes, they do get very busy at times, and they state this on their website, but if you're monitoring your children, there is certainly enough room there to move around, grab a snack, etc. They also make it very clear that parents are responsible for their own children, including their children's behaviors. It seems really unfair for you to hold the Treehouse responsible for the fact that another child hit your child. The staff is not responsible for monitoring children, parents are, and they make this very clear. And really, conflict is something that happens on just about any playground, in play groups, schools, etc. It's our responsibility as parents to help our children learn from those circumstances, not the cafe staff. We've always had a fantastic time at the Little Treehouse, and as an added bonus the food is great! I can't wait to sign my youngest up for their new tumbling and music classes, which must be great because they filled up right away. I recommend giving it another chance, maybe during a time when it's not likely to be so crowded. I know we'll continue to go back as will the many friends we've made there!

I decided to take my children to the Little Treehouse after it being recommended to us through a friend. We took the long drive on Monday, February 15 only to be extremely disappointed. It was chaotic. Parents were not watching their children and one little girl punched my daughter in the face and scratched her leaving marks. I was appalled and VERY upset. We also witnessed a small baby (couldn't have been more than 15 mo) crawling across a table; no parent in sight. There was no staff to monitor activity except for behind the desk. I thought the rules were that parents were to watch their children while at play. This was definitely not the case during our awful visit. I packed my kids up after not even being there for 20 minutes and complained to the front desk only to be offered free passes - PLEASE - is that for real? Why would I ever come out to visit in the future? I will absolutely not recommend this place and I will be sure to tell friends of my unpleasant experience.

My daughter and I have been going to the Little Treehouse Play Cafe since it first opened, on Germantown Avenue. The new space on Gravers Lane is incredible - lots of light, custom-built play structures, and great food for lunch and dinner. I've had several sandwiches here as well as pizza and salads, and everything is fresh and tastes terrific. The coffee's really good, too. I especially like that I can go with friends or alone, play with my daughter on the floor, bring something to read, or strike up a conversation with another parent. I feel like there's a real sense of community starting to build there. I hear that there will soon be tumbling space in the basement and even some things for older kids to do so there will be attractions for the entire family. Finally, we had my daughter's 5th birthday party here and it was a major hit with her guests- and stress-free for me! I really can't recommend it enough.

A friend and I were very excited to take our children 6mo. and 11mo. to the Little Treehouse. However, I was quickly disappointed to find no outside food or drink was allowed in. My friend and I were planning on ordering lunch from thier menu that looked great. However, I had did bring my daughters lunch as she has allergies to milk, eggs and penuts. Although the staff member explaining the "rules" to us was very nice and professional there were no exceptions. The childrens menu was geared towards older children who do not have allegeries. I certainly would have been willing to buy her lunch if they had options for younger children with allergies. The inside looked like a lot of fun , too bad we could not enjoy,
