The Lobster Pot is recognized as one of the Tampa Bay's premier seafood restaurants, serving fresh, local seafood as well as Maine lobsters, Alaskan king crab, and Florida stone crab (when available). Dinners can be pricey, with adult entrees ranging from $13-$38 (with most in the $20-$25 range). Early dinner specials are available from 4:30pm-5:45pm for those looking for a bargain. But what really stands out to parents is the restaurant's sophisticated children's menu that refreshingly serves something other than deep-fried standards. While the familiar cheese pizza and pasta with meatballs ($4.50 each) is listed, the menu also features grilled or fried chicken strips or shrimp ($4.50), grilled or fried fish ($5.50), a 4-oz. filet mignon ($9.50) and a 1/2 steamed Maine lobster ($12.50). All meals are served with a fresh garden salad or applesauce, roasted potatoes or french fries, and the vegetable of the day. This just may be the restaurant of choice for special occasions, or kids hungering for more "grown-up" fare.
