The lovely, art-filled 52,000-square-foot Open Book center houses The Loft Literary Center and the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, which both offer a wide range of programs for young and old readers, writers, and artists - as well as a cafe and exhibit galleries.
Loft workshops, classes, and events for children, teens, and families include author appearances, creative writing programs, and cutting-edge spoken word happenings. A wide array of summer camps are offered, too. Older teens may also enroll in Loft adult classes, as appropriate.

getting there:
On Washington Avenue, along the river at the edge of downtown Minneapolis. Park in the small lot beside the building, or in nearby ramps. Metered on-street parking is also an option, but can be hard to find.
