The Peabody's claim to fame starts with the ducks - the hotel's resident waterfowl take an elevator down to the lobby from their rooftop abode and march on the red carpet to their swimming hole - an indoor fountain, daily at 11:15am. Children are sometimes invited to serve as duck ranglers!
The hotel itself is a slice of Memphis history, with all the pros and cons that suggests. As an older building, some of the space feels a little cramped, and the decor could use some updating/freshening.
The hotel also boasts a heated, indoor Grecian-style swimming pool.
