The Publick Theatre is located in Christian Herter Park on the banks of the Charles River in Brighton, directly across the street from WBZ-TV. The theater is fully wheelchair accessible and has acres of free parking.
Picnics are encouraged, and beverages and snacks are available for purchase. Season passes offer a significant savings over single tickets and subscribers are admitted to both season productions on any night of their choosing ? no need to book in advance. Plus, they receive discount single tickets for their friends and free admission to see the next generation of classically trained actors with the Young Company's own summer production.
The Young Company is a training program for teens between 13 and 18 that is run quite like a professional actor training program and mentored by the theater's main stage professional actors. The program runs six weeks and costs $850 per student (2007). This includes daily instruction for six weeks covering all workshops, rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances. 2007 Program Dates: July 2-August 13, Mon-Fri from 10am-3pm. Scholarships are available for students and are awarded on a merit and at-need basis.
