About The Red Balloon Bookshop

Be sure to say hi to the trio of carved bears on the way in to this welcoming, award-winning, independent children's bookstore.

Once inside, customers will find a wide array of new releases and beloved classics, neatly arranged for easy perusal. Parenting books and foreign language offerings (as well as the latest titles for grown-ups!) are on the lower level. A selection of gift items, including finger puppets and stuffed buddies, is also sold.

Red Balloon hosts a full schedule of author readings, storytimes, and special events throughout the year. Books can be ordered by phone, fax, email, and online. Educators, daycare providers, and homeschoolers can get a 20% discount.

Tips

If you want to be able to get at the shelves on a Tuesday, wait until after noon to shop, otherwise you'll have to climb over the families who came in for the baby and toddler storytimes!

Getting There

Between Milton and Victoria Streets, in the heart of the Grand Avenue shopping district. Street parking is available, and there's a parking lot next to the store.
