The Shoe Zoo is fantastic - the salespeople are extremely knowledgeable and have a pleasant no-nonsense approach to kids shoes. They are most interested in finding the right fit and not in selling the more expensive shoes. I became a huge fan the first time I entered to buy toddler shoes and was talked out of a "trendy" pair for a very cute and significantly lower priced shoe that the salesperson felt would better protect my son's foot and hold up better in his early walking months. I am a huge fan and return there for every new pair of shoes we need.

My grandchildren were told of the wonderful service and fit and visited and all bought and were so happy that they now rely on the Shoe Zoo for all their shoes. Thanks Anchorage Alaska purchaser. We have no store like this in Alaska.

I have always bought both cheap and better, more expensive shoes. The better shoes I have mostly bought at Shoe Zoo - this is the better store. They have a very good selection of shoes. They always measure the child's foot in a very caring, gentle way. With my recent purchase, I met the owner who made a great impression. He really has a nice way with children - talking to the child and not down to the child. He also is extremely knowledgeable about infant/ young child footwear and he could compare the different makes and what made each make unique. He also explained what to look for in infant footwear. And gave me a discount on the shoes I bought, although the sale was over! He also suggested other shoes and I ended up buying a suggestion (rather than what I had in mind) and absolutely love the shoes - as do my daughter.

Like another reviewer, I was a loyal Nordstrom customer for the first couple years I had to buy toddler shoes. They had an array of shoes in wider widths and they also seemed more interested in helping me find shoes that FIT than finding trendy or expensive shoes. But the last few times I went there, that changed. The last straw for me was when a young salesperson didn't even bother to check my son's feet, but went on and on about how adorable and popular (and, of course, expensive!) one of the pairs was. Enter the Shoe Zoo. We went in there one late afternoon and my son was fitted into shoes in 10 painless minutes by the knowledgeable and kind owner. My son is VERY shy, but he let the owner measure his feet, put on the shoes, and touch his feet to assess the fit. I'm sure for some kids, that wouldn't be a big deal, but for my son, it was amazing. The salespeople there know how to fit shoes, but also how to interact with kids to make the experience pleasant. They're not just there to make a sale. I have problems with my own feet from wearing ill-fitting shoes as a kid, so I'm careful not to buy just any shoe for my son. I'm sure I could find cheaper shoes at Target or Old Navy, but for a quality shoe that supports the foot, we'll be going to the Shoe Zoo from now on.

For the past four years I have loyally relied on Nordstrom to fit my children in the proper baby/toddler/preschooler shoes and to carry the best selection of widths in the city. But no more. This past year I had to exchange my daughter's first walking shoes *three times* before they got the proper fit, return two pairs of shoes for my wide-width preschooler, and then wait weeks for them to special order wide widths because they no longer carry a wide width inventory. I was so disappointed - and without anywhere to turn. But this sad story has a VERY happy ending, for a friend just recommended THE SHOE ZOO. I walked in one night just before closing and my hard-to-fit son was quickly and expertly fit into a comfortable pair of summer sandals while my toddler happily amused herself with the well-stocked toy chest. I am in Mom-heaven! Thank you, SHOE ZOO, for being there. You have a new loyal customer and I will spread the word!

What a great kids' shoe store! The knowlegeable and caring owner runs the store. He knows how to fit kids and how to talk to them too. We'll be going back...

I finally took my kids to the Shoe Zoo, and everything I have heard is true. They have a wonderful selection of the kinds of shoes I have been looking for.They have lots of velcro sneakers in wide widths and slip ons too. My kids don't like laces and I have been looking everywear for lightup sneakers. They must of had at least 30 different velcro sneakers, and velcro boots,and velcro dress shoes too. I parked right by their front door and got wonderful service. Five stars for sure.

I was pretty desperate to find shoes to fit my 2 year old with wide feet. These wonderful people have a great selection of shoes that come in wide width and are extremely knowledgeable about fit - not to mention what shoe would be immediately comfortable and allow my toddler maximum flexibility to run and play. Their shop is totally kid friendly - and they were very nice and understanding as my little one threw a tantrum(!). Now that we've been there, we won't go anywhere else!!!

I can always count on the Shoe Zoo to have the best selection of kids shoes,with a staff that truly knows how to fit them. My kids are always entertained with toys, and they receive animal crackers when they are done. Great customer service!!!
