about The Soup Garden:

Don't tell everyone about our favorite OTP lunch spot. But we understand if you must, it's hard to keep it a secret. The Soup Garden, tucked into a corner of a Cobb Parkway shopping strip, has one of the healthiest lunches or dinners around, and the kind of atmosphere that easily welcomes both business lunchers and parents with kiddos. The concept is simple: grab a tray and head down the salad bar, which is packed full of fresh greens, salad toppings, hard boiled eggs, dressings, cold salads like pasta and tuna, fruit, cottage cheese, and those fabulous breads. And here we must digress... We're not talking a stale couple of rolls here. We mean pans of hot, steamy blueberry, corn, and ginger breads. Have one as a side with lunch or save it for dessert by topping with whipped cream, pudding, or fruit. But aside from the salad bar, diners can also have a baked russet or sweet potato, or soup from the soup bar. Each day offers no less than four soup choices like veggie rosa (our fave), chicken, black bean, and lentil. Once your tray is full, pick a table and order drinks. The sweet tea here is some of the best in metro Atlanta, served in mason jars with free refills. Once finished with your plate, just set it aside and return for more. A waitress writes up the check based on what you've taken; pay at the register on the way out. Prices are incredibly reasonable - $7.14 for any combo of two (salad, potato, soup) for adults. Kids combos for ages six to 10 are $3.50, and kids under five eat free.
