What'll ya have? No visit to Atlanta is complete without a meal at The Varsity, the "World's Largest Drive-In," and the winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best Family Friendly Restaurant in the Atlanta area. Placing an order is half the fun. Be sure to visit www.thevarsity.com/history before stopping by so you'll know how to "walk a dog" and "ring one." But don't worry, the staff is used to helping newbies. Located across from Georgia Tech, The Varsity has been serving up fast food since 1928, and offers over 60 fast food items, including salads and grilled items. Hamburgers start at $1.15 each. There is no "kiddie menu" because the food is a la carte and kid friendly (hot dogs, grilled cheese). Take-out boxes are available if you prefer to enjoy your Varsity food at a local park or sporting event. High chairs and booster chairs are available. But beware: Steps to the upper dining area, with the large windows, are not stroller accessible. Catering is available for parties.
