about The Wayside:

Situated on the Battle Road in Concord, less than 20 miles from Boston, The Wayside was the home of authors Nathaniel Hawthorne, Louisa May and Bronson Alcott, and Margaret Sidney. It was the first literary site to become part of the National Park Service system, and is an important stop in the Minute Man National Historical Park. 35-minute, guided tours are given on in season on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 4:30pm by Park Rangers. There is some steep stair climbing during the tour.

getting there:

From Route 2 W, take I-95 North. Proceed to Exit 30B. You will be on Route 2A West. After passing the Minute Man Visitor Center, travel through one blinking light. Approximately 1 mile further, bear right at the blinking light and follow the signs to Concord Center. You will be on Lexington Road. You will pass the Meriam's Corner parking area on your right, and approximately 1/3 mile from Meriam's Corner, you will see The Wayside, a large yellow house on your right with a parking area across the street. Turn left onto Hawthorne Lane to access the parking lot.
