Went with my daughter, son-in-law and 15 mo. old grandson. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the toddler area with its slide sized for the little guys, a really beautiful aquarium, books, hand-bells, steps for climbing and other fun stuff. He wasn't really old enough for the air flow and microscope exhibits in the gallery or the arts & crafts area although I did get a "Grandson Original" done in crayon! (LOL) He was just barely tall enough for the water play area but he enjoyed splashing and playing with the toys. The sand play area, the play house, the fire house, the grocery store and the construction dig pit - he enjoyed all of it! I saw employees sweeping up, cleaning/sanitizing plastic fruits & vegetables, walls, and climbing areas. And for those of you with toddlers, you know how often things go in their mouths, and so seeing how diligently they cleaned was a welcome sight. Kids under two get in free, so it was just $15 for the three of us adults to watch our little guy enjoy almost two hours of fun exploration. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
The Staff makes all the difference! This grass roots style children's museum lacks the polish of the ultra-funded Houston Children's Museum but the staff make up for any perceived short fall. This musuem is great for young children due to it's many hands-on activities and host of kid friendly performers. A great home town treasure! And FREE parking!
